What is the Run for Children in Hanoi 2009?
The Run for Children helps raising money to support sick children from disadvantaged families being treated for cancer or heart related problem in Hanoi Heart Hospital or the National Hospital of Paediatrics. It also assists institutions such as Heart Beat Vietnam with funding for life threatening heart surgeries. Over past 8 years the Run, formally known as the Terry Fox Run for Cancer Research, has hosted more than 37,800 participants and generated more than VND 2.2 billion.
Who is organising this event?
The Run for Children is organised by the Embassy of Canada in collaboration with the Vietnam-Canada Friendship Association, the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations as well as the Canadian Chamber of Commerce to Vietnam.
How will the fund be raised?
Funds will be raised through the sale of official tee-shirts, corporate sponsorship as well as participants’ cash donations.
When and where is the Run taking place?
The Run takes place on Sunday November 22nd 2009 at Thien Quang Lake, Hai Ba Trung district. The flag off time is 8:15 am
Do we have to be an athlete to participate in the Run?
Absolutely not, the Run welcomes all participants, from young children accompanied by their parents, to students and adults. This is not a race; you can run or walk for as long as you want.
How much does it cost to participate in the Run?
The registration fee is VND 100 000, and you will be given an official tee shirt to be worn on Run day.

Can we also register on the day of the event?
Yes - from 7:00 am to 7:45 am at the Gate of Reunification Park, on Tran Nhan Tong Street. However we advise you to register early.
Which payment methods can we use to register?
We only accept cash and cheques.
Do we have to be part of a group or can we register individually?
No you do not have to be part of a group; an “individual registration” form is also available on our website.
My company would like to participate in the event, are there any sponsorship opportunities available?
Certainly, different sponsorship categories are available to firms; for more information please refer to the Sponsorship section of our website.
Can I skate or cycle during the Run instead?
No, for security reasons we ask our participants not to use rollerblades or bicycles during the Run. |
